Children’s and Family Activities
At Foxwood Resort we cater to families with children and strongly believe that if your kids have a good time, so will you. Our summer Children’s and Family Activities run Monday to Friday and include a mix of resort led activities that take place both on and off site. The activities are interesting and varied and we make every effort to cater to both young and old. A typical week may include a few days with crafts in the morning, followed by an hour of organized games in the afternoon and then another day may be an off site excursion to one of the great hiking, adventure or paddling spots in the area. Most of these activities are offered at no charge, however some have an additional cost associated.
“I had a great time here. Foxwood is probably my favorite resort. It is a great place to make friends” DT, 10yrs old
Weekday afternoons we offer a program of waterskiing and tubing – always a big hit with parents and kids. There is an additional charge.
Each evening around dusk we light the campfire down at the boathouse. People gather round to chat, sing and roast marshmallows. It’s a tradition everyone loves to take part in.
“I had the best time ever. There were so many fun things to do like tubing, swimming, watching the stars, waterskiing and meeting other kids. It was great!” MM

The island is located 800m across the bay…we even have a special t-shirt designed for those who do it.

Lake of Bays
Lake of Bays is the most northern and pristine of the Muskoka Lakes. It is a beautiful lake with almost 580km of shoreline and depths of over 250 ft in spots. It’s a paradise for swimmers, boaters and those who like to fish. The lake and our waterfront are just two of the many reasons why guests come to Foxwood!
“Our week at Foxwood is always one of the highlights of our year and is one of the very few things everyone in our family agrees on! Thanks for making it a great place to come back to” JP
Foxwood has a shallow, sandy beach that is perfect for families. The children’s swim area is roped off and is approximately 3ft deep, even 50 ft from shore. Many like to swim from our main dock which extends 70 ft out or to our swim raft where the water is around 6 ft deep. Beyond is our water trampoline which is very popular for everyone young and old. The more adventurous can join our organized weekly swims to Haystack Island, 800m away. By the end of June water temperatures in the lake are normally 20 – 25C (70-80F). The lake is often quite comfortable for swimming well into September.
“Great place, great owners – what a delightful experience being here. When I think of or hear about Lake of Bays I’ll think Foxwood” RM
You’ll enjoy boating on the lake too. Each cottage rental includes use of Foxwood canoes, kayaks and paddleboats. As well, we have a small 15′ fishing boat, a laser sailboat and a rowing shell which are available for rent. For those who like to bring their own boats, we provide space at our dock; $80wk or $17/day. Boat rentals are also available from several nearby marinas.
Fishing on Lake of Bays is excellent. The major species in the lake are bass, whitefish and lake trout. Smaller fish can be caught right off our dock and good catches of bass, 4 lbs or larger, are just offshore. Lake trout of 6lbs and up are in deeper waters and whitefish are normally caught through the ice in winter.
“We loved this place! So much wildlife and so peaceful and quiet” DB
